Laurence E. Hardoon ("Larry") is a founding partner of BHPK Law. Larry is nationally renowned for his legal expertise representing hundreds of clients -- children, adolescents, and adults -- who were sexually victimized by priests, teachers, counselors, child-care workers, doctors, employers, neighbors, family members, and others. Having pioneered the legal actions brought against the Catholic Church arising out of sexual abuse of minors, Larry is considered one of the most influential attorneys representing plaintiffs in the Commonwealth. He brings his extraordinary compassion, sensitivity, patience, and vast experience to empowering clients and helping them navigate these difficult and complex cases.
Beyond sexual abuse and harassment cases, Larry is a skilled trial lawyer who has also successfully obtained large awards for clients who have been seriously injured by defective products, automobiles, and other catastrophic accidents. He has resolved hundreds of cases over more than 40 years on behalf of survivors who have sustained serious physical and emotional injuries.
For fourteen years, before founding BHPK, Larry served as an Assistant District Attorney and senior prosecutor in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office. He prosecuted major felony and homicide cases for over ten years before founding and directing the District Attorney’s Child Abuse Prosecution Unit. Larry considers the establishment of this unit to be the most meaningful contribution of his professional career to the legal and victim advocacy fields. His work was later recognized as a national model for implementing and introducing a new set of protocols to protect children in child abuse prosecutions. These are now considered gold standard practices nationwide.
With significant depth and breadth of experience, Larry is highly regarded for his meticulous investigation, preparation, case resolution, and trial skills, and has successfully negotiated and tried numerous high-profile criminal and civil cases.
Larry has been featured and provided legal commentary for such media outlets as The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, Boston Magazine, National Public Radio, New England Cable News, Dateline NBC, 20/20, Emily Rooney’s Boston, Court TV, A&E’s American Justice, 48 Hours, WGBH, WHDH, CNN, WCVB, and WBZ.
